Route of dinosaurs and diamonds Discover here the geosites that have dinosaur fossils and those where diamonds have already been found. Mining of the Slave - Cachoeira Rica The geosite is located in the community of Cachoeira Rica, which is located 31 km away from the municipal seat. Access is via an unpaved road and during the journey the visitor can observe the Fecho do Morro and ruiform features of the Botucatu Formation. In the community there is a restaurant, cafeteria and parking. The Garimpo da Script geosite is linked to the history of the discovery and extraction of diamonds in Mato Grosso, being one of the first places where mineral activity was developed in the 1820s. of electricity production in the state of Mato Grosso. Salvador mining Access to this geosite is via the MT-020 towards the Água Fria District, 33 km away from the municipal headquarters. In the locality there is a restaurant, snack bar, supermarket and gas station. The Salvador mine is located in the urban perimeter, has parking and has light and short trails. Papaya Passage Volcanism The geosite is located on the sidelines of the MT-020, approximately 50 km from the municipal seat. The local biodiversity is reasonably preserved with abundant fauna and flora typical of cerradão areas and gallery forests. Pingador waterfall Access to the Cachoeira Pingador geosite is located 3 km after the Água Fria district, where it follows an unpaved road for 13 km, until the reception of the attraction located at the headquarters of the owner farm. The small trail to the waterfall is easily accessible and shaded. There is an archaeological site on site, with poorly preserved cave inscriptions and a shelter excavated during the archaeological rescue carried out during the construction of the Manso Power Plant. Geladeira Circuit Along Estrada do Garimpo, which connects the municipality of Chapada do Guimarães to the community of Cachoeira Rica, converging to the right on a side road, you will find the reception and parking of the geosite. In the place there are two waterfalls whose access is facilitated by a short and sloping trail. The site is open all year round, from 9 am to 5 pm. Park Road and Viewpoints Discover here the geosites that are close to MT-251 and the viewpoints. Martinha Waterfall The Cachoeira da Martinha geosite is located on the border with the municipality of Campo Verde, 42km from the municipal headquarters of Chapada dos Guimarães, via MT-251. The place is commonly identified by the welcome sign to Campo Verde, the presence of a crosswalk and the Martinha restaurant and snack bar. The site offers parking service for visitors to the waterfall, has restrooms and meals must be ordered. The waterfall is located on the opposite side of the road, and access is possible via a small trail. Viewpoint of the Geodesic Center 8 km from the city of Chapada dos Guimarães, on the MT-251, there is a short access trail to the attraction, one of the most famous spots in the municipality. The attraction is closed due to the lack of adequate structures for tourism. The lookout is 845 meters high and therefore allows a panoramic view of the landscape. From it, testimonial hills such as the Santo Antônio hill can be seen. Viewpoint Alto do Céu Access is via the MT-251, turning right at Km 8, along a paved road for 7 km, giving way to an unpaved stretch of less than 1 km of dirt road. There is a snack bar, cafeteria and restrooms at the reception, where meals can be ordered. It is possible to reach the viewpoint by car, a fact that makes the place accessible to the elderly, children and people with disabilities. In the historical context there are close records, and an active gold mining project can be seen in the landscape that allows approaching local economic cycles. Viewpoint Morro dos Ventos Morro dos Ventos is located in the urban perimeter of the municipality of Chapada dos Guimarães, which is accessed by the MT-251, close to the exit to the municipality of Campo Verde. On site there is a souvenir shop, a restaurant and a suspended gazebo, whose services are open every day of the week, from 8 am to 6 pm. Atman Mountains Situated about 2 km from the municipal seat, the Serra do Atmã viewpoint is open from 11 am to 4 pm, every day of the week, throughout the year. On site there is a parking lot and a restaurant with international and typical cuisine from the Mato Grosso region. Cliff The Penhasco is located in the urban perimeter of the municipality of Chapada dos Guimarães, with easy access and well signposted. The site has a leisure structure with day use services (every day from 8 am to 6 pm), an area for meetings and business events, accommodation, a restaurant (every day from 11 am to 3 pm) and a lookout point for observing the landscape. The integration between leisure, gastronomic and contemplation tourism are the strong point of this geosite. Dolina Olho D'água The Dolina Olho D'água geosite is located near Rua São Benedito, the road is paved and nearby there are shops, restaurants and hotels. The geosite is not open for visitation and does not have adequate trails. The site has preserved vegetation and is located close to the Santa Edwiges Community Garden, which has been in operation for over 20 years, and to the Maria Luiza De Araújo Gomes Municipal School, which can stimulate local neighborhood involvement with the geosite in question, providing management participatory and environmental education. Salgadeira The Salgadeira Tourist Complex is a traditional tourist spot located on the border of the municipalities of Cuiabá and Chapada dos Guimarães. The geosite is located on the banks of MT-251, 19.2 km from the seat of the municipality of Chapada dos Guimarães. On site there is a restaurant, handicraft shop, snack bar, an interpretation center, ample parking and spaces for a spa and the Salgadeira waterfall. The local tourist structure is mostly accessible to People with Special Needs (PNEs).
